Dr Sharon Ridgeway works at the National Centre for Mental
Health and Deafness in Manchester. She is a Chartered Psychologist
and is Head of Counselling Services. Sharon studied for a BA (Hon),
MSc, Certificate of Qualification in Social Work and obtained her
doctorate at the University of Manchester. She is Chair of the
British Society for Mental Health and Deafness and British Deaf
Association representative to the European Society for Mental Health
and Deafness. Sharon has a national and international reputation and
frequently travels to present various aspects of her work.
Specialist interests include developing therapeutic approaches to
work with deaf people and abuse of deaf children. She is presently
training in Forensic Psychology.
